Understanding Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the UK government to publicly funded schools in England. Its primary aim is to close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed academically and personally.

Eligibility Criteria

Your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding if you receive any of the following benefits:

• Universal Credit with an annual net earned income of £7,400 or less
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you're not also entitled to Working Tax Credit) with an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
• Working Tax Credit run-on, which is paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

Additionally, children who have been adopted from care or are under special guardianship orders may also be eligible.
