My name is Mrs Smith. I’m the class teacher in Year 1(Red class) and I’m also the subject leader at Morden Primary for History and Geography.
In Year 1, we have lots of fun learning and exploring! Some interesting topics that we teach are: The Great Fire of London and Kings and Queens in History; Planting bean seeds and Animals in Science; Our local area in Geography; Moving pictures and Eat more fruit and vegetables in D&T and learning some tennis skills and gymnastics in PE.
Across the year, we motivate and reward the children for putting in 100% effort, in order to earn certificates, hummingbird stickers and badges.
My favourite subjects to teach are Maths, Phonics, Science and History. Every year, I always look forward to our class trips and performing our assemblies and Christmas Nativity to our parents. We enjoy going on educational trips to London, Chessington, Morden Hall Park and to the cinema.
My favourite books as a child were any of Enid Blyton’s stories which had fantasy and loads of magical moments in the stories. These days, I love reading historical and mystery novels.
School closed for inset day.
