My name is Mrs Davies, I’m the class teacher in Year 3 (Blue Class) at Morden Primary.
Learning in Year 3 is full of excitement, challenge and fun! It is a big year of learning, the first in KS2. We have lots to look forward to: taking part in the KS2 Carol Concert, auditioning for WinterFest and the Summer musical, learning French and swimming lessons at Morden Park Pools.
In class, we learn lots of exciting things in our fabulous topics. Some of my favourites are Sandwich Snacks in DT, Extreme Earth in Geography and Romans in History. My favourite subjects to teach are DT (I do like a bit of craft!) Maths, Reading, Science and History. There will be some amazing trips in Year 3 as well to support our learning. Watch out for letters home with more information about these.
I love being outdoors and enjoy being in the garden and gardening activities. I always find opportunities to take our learning outside the classroom and encourage our Year 3 children to appreciate our natural world and our environment. It’s always so much fun linking our Stone Age History topic to our school playground – we really appreciate our Fire Pit here!
In terms of reading and favourite books, as a family, we absolutely love the Harry Potter series (books and films!). There are so many magical adventures and wonderful relationships to explore at Hogwarts. I am sure many of you will agree with me on that!
School closed for inset day.
